Nigeria has not recorded a case of polio for the past 14 months. This has earned Nigeria having the World Health Organisation remove Nigeria from the countries where polio is endemic. Nigeria will be declared a Polio-free nation if no case of polio is recorded for the next three years, that is, by 2017.
To achieve this, please encourage parents in your neighbourhood with new babies to have the babies vaccinated against polio and let each one of us make good sanitation (clean water and effective sewage management) a daily habit.
